Johnny Lever comes from a a lower-middle class family who initially had interest in dancing and films during his school days, until he saw the legendary comedian and actor, Dinesh Hingoo, doing stand-up and mimicry on TV.
Young Johnny Lever immediately fell in love with this new art form and started practicing doing dialogues in actor's voices. Later on the life came to a full circle when he gets to work with his inspiration in Baazigar and gave one of his best comedy scenes (The tea scene between Johnny Lever and Dinesh Hingoo).
